Health care has been at the top of Obama's agenda. The big question is, will illegal immigrants be covered by this plan? A recent Rasmussen poll stated that 80% of Americans would be opposed to extending benefits to illegals. The Center for Immigration Studies estimates that there are as many as 15 million uninsured illegals and their children here. Obama recently gave an interview to Katie Couric in which he said, "First of all, I'd like to create a situation where we're dealing with illegal immigration, so that we don't have illegal immigrants. And I want a comprehensive immigration plan that creates a pathway to achieve that." Sounds like laying the ground work for an AMNESTY? Beyond that, the House Ways and Means Committee REJECTED the Heller Amendment (from Dean Heller R-NV) that would have guaranteed that illegals would not be able to enroll in the government option and receive benefits from taxpayers. Also, according to a report from the Federation for Immigration Reform, there is no way to check the legal status of someone. So essentially the health care bill as it's now written will NOT preclude illegals from receiving taxpayer funded benefits.

It's bad enough that Obama and the Democrats are trying to ram through a socialist health care system which guarantees long lines and endless waits, rationed care and astronomical taxes. It's also bad enough that citizens are right now paying ever-increasing taxes for bankrupt public school districts, social welfare services, prison incarceration, insolvent hospitals, and the human and fiscal ravages of the drug cartel - due to illegal aliens. But it's pure INSANITY to allow 15 million illegals admission to the proposed health care program should it be enacted. And how many more millions would this new magnet attract from across the border? We're broke now and future generations are already in hock for the trillions in unfunded liabilities Obama is giving us. They'll be lucky if they can even pay the interest on this debt! Add illegals to the proposed plan and the Titanic goes down. It's on Obama's high priority list - citizens' views be damned.

Illegals already have access to free health care. Just walk into any public hospital and get taken care off. So the question reallly is not about the cost since we already pay for it in one form or another though taxpayer subsidy or cost shifting. The question is will they pay their fair share as illegls by getting on Obamacare

Not only public hospitals. The orivate hospital I work for as well as myself personally gives thousands of dollars of free health care to anyone who walks in the door without insurance or means to pay.

Thanks for all the good material. I think the rationing that will be inevitable will be one of the worst (inhumane) consequences. Dick Morris has had some good articles on rationing. If we add another 40-50 million to health care there will be no additional hospitals, doctors, nurses, etc. to accomodate this vast increase. In fact, under government economic regulation and control there will be FEWER doctors. Just look at the UK where every other doctor is an imported Pakistani or Indian. I’ve seen that health care chart before - I get dizzy just looking at it! Regards,
