Sorry about linking to MSNBC folks. I think it's significant when 0bama controled media reports stuff that we all can see coming. They put in their digs on us throughout the article but at least it's getting out.

Call me "a little goofy" but at least I'm ready for most things that may happen. Once MSM starts reporting on our stockpiling of guns & ammo., you know the time is near.

It will do no good to have food and ammunition stockpiles when the battle of Armageddon occurs.

I think it's prudent to prepare for what we know is coming down the road. We can either prepare and be part of the solution or we can walk foolishly into the storm with nothing to survive with and be part of the problem! I've been preparing for this day since the end of the 90's.

I admit that I thought Y2K was going to be a lot worse, but thank God for showing me that times were coming that were going to be much worse than Y2K. I got teased a lot too, but I didn't care. IF things had been bad, at least I knew my family would be taken care of. I had NEVER prepared for anything prior to that. I don't live in an area that has natural disasters so I had nothing to prepare for, or so I thought, until my house got hit by a tornado in 2002, which btw, NEVER happens here. LOL THAT made me realize that ANYTHING is possible if the conditions are right.

I went back to the 'days of old' to see how people lived when they didn't have the convenience of a store down the block. I've learned how to can foods and dehydrate them. I learned how to bake bread and make things the 'old way.' I learned about 'remedies' used to treat people when they got sick before all the medicine there is today. Thank God for the Internet which has enabled me to learn how to do all of this stuff.

A couple of sites that I recommend to everyone are: http://www.howstuffworks.com and http://www.beprepared.com aka: Emergency Essentials. They've got just about any survival item that you might want; however, they do not sell guns and ammo. I've purchased many things from them and have never been disappointed in the quality or cost of their items.

the problem is Obama’s spending. It should cause Hyper-inflation where commodities like food become the new cash.

or call them, well, a little goofy.

Guess who'll be begging at your door for food? Oh, wait. I forgot. The Leftie media will just have ACORN stop by for a little census taking...

My two cents- Just tonite got a call from a friend needing 10 mm ammo. I checked midway, cheaper than dirt, and Cor-Bon. They are all out of stock. Austin area shelves have been empty many months.

“People who engage in this survivalist lifestyle are exhibiting what I would call an extreme reaction,” says Columbia University’s chair of psychology, Dr. Jeffrey Lieberman. “They revert to behavior designed to ensure their security.”

What is WRONG with these intellectuals?! It's as if there's been a shift in what's considered normal. If leadership in D.C. peers over their wall one night, and they notice that millions of us are all gathered ARMED across the plain as with Saruon's forces at the Keep in The Lord of The Rings, then THAT would be abnormal. But what people are doing now isn't abnormal at all. Less than a generation ago, it was considered wise, prudent, and good family stewardship to garden, hunt wild game, and freeze and can food, and keep a nominal collection of suitable firearms for hunting and home defense. But now it's being categorized as an extreme reaction?

While we certainly give no respect to the brainless liberal base of intelligencia, it can't be refuted that they are at least observant. They might not be interpreting their observations correctly, but they ARE observant. Far too many people are reacting to what they observe, and while some don't react correctly, for the most part, if you present a problem across a large base of people, a very large percentage of them are going to react in a very similar fashion. Then, because of these, another certain percentage who wouldn't have otherwise, will also react because they've been swayed. The good professor might feel mighty stupid when he finds himself in a difficult situation because he analyzed rather than reacting correctly if and when he realizes that all the crazies really weren't so crazy after all. But people like him that I've known tend to be a bit thick. In a way, they're a lot like three year olds. They're not IN trouble until they're in TROUBLE and then they react. It's a lot like a parachutist waiting to hit the ground before pulling the rip cord. The time to pull it would have been sometime BEFORE that! But the idiots will analyze the situation digressing around them, and toss around big titles and feel important right up until that day that calamity overtakes them.

He says we're overreacting, but what would he propose? I suppose he would recommend that we fawn at the feet of The One and wait for our government checks to arrive in the mail? Anybody who can do very basic math can determine that every financial forecast coming from every expert is currently leading to disaster. This is, unless of course, people only listen to what the MSM and the government say about it. Then it's different! It also happens to be a huge load of unbelievable crap! But it's different!

Just a word of warning... Rotate your supplies. About 2005 I helped a friend clean her home and the room where she stored all her Y2K supplies had become a rodent diner. Huge bags of flour, rice etc completely devoured.
