Hence, the reason why I have proposed, since that last election, to get state laws that make it legally required for a candidate to show his birth certificate or else he cannot be on the ballot.

I wonder whether a secretary of state, absent such a law, could simply require that documentation be produced, as part of his or her due diligence in performing the office?

Of course, the Soros-fed 'Rats would sue in federal court, so the RNC would have to be ready to sustain their sec'ies of state with legal defenses, as would the States themselves.

Well, here’s the thing about the question you ask. The answer to it is “iffy” and questionable and uncertain.

AND..., on the other hand, the *result* you’ll get with a law enacted by the state requiring all candidates to provide their birth certificate — is not iffy or questionable or uncertain.

At this point, I want to go into the election of 2012 with a *sure thing* and not some prognosticators on Free Republic telling me that we “can do” — next time — what “we could not do” — last time....

Actually, it IS contested that she took a trip to Kenya, as a perusal of these threads will show. All kinds of responses arguing the extreme improbability of a trip to Kenya.

Of course, just because it’s extremely improbable doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Maybe Obama Sr. was the top pimp in Honolulu and Stanley Ann was his #1 “ho”, and that’s where they got the small fortune in cash you would need to pay upfront for a trip to Kenya. Or maybe Sr. was Honolulu’s #1 drug dealer. Or maybe Grammy Dunham embezzled money from the bank she worked for to pay for the trip. But this is speculation. What you need is hard fact.

I provided the links as something to look at that was off topic, but interesting nonetheless. I found those while looking for the FR contingency site on yahoo while FR was down for a few hours yesterday.

A Jazz forum for god’s sake - was discussing FR. I’m a musician and I run into heavy handed liberals all the time. More often than not they are the most intolerant people I’ve ever had the displeasure of running across. In a lot of cases it really sucks because there are some fine musicians that are just diametrically opposed to anyone or anything even slightly to the right of Stalin. I can’t discuss anything political around just about anyone I play music with (spare a scant 2 people out of more than two dozen). It’s pretty pathetic really!

I scanned the dump thread a little bit, but I had to bleach my eyes and my soul afterward. Treading there is not for the faint-of-heart.

Then wouldn’t have been simpler to just not pay a huge amount of cash upfront (no credit cards in 1961) for a long and difficult trip to Kenya (especially for a woman in her third trimester!) just to say hi to the in-laws? The last stage of a trip to Obama Sr.’s remote native village of Kogelo (no electricity, no phones, no running water) would have been over miles of bad 1961 third world road. Lots of fun for an expectant mom! Then, after giving birth, smuggling the infant Obama past Customs and Immigration, leaving no trace of entry to the U.S., and then falsely attesting to a Hawaiian birth? And all this, just to be doggone sure that her mulatto baby could run for POTUS someday!

To “Americanize” her baby, wouldn’t it be much easier to stay put in Hawaii for a few weeks, and avoid all that trouble, expense, and sneaking around? Apply Occam’s Razor.
