OK, so they put the information from the Certificate into a database. Maybe they just scanned all of them in. I'd read, well before I ever heard of BHO, that many states were planning to that with various vital records, including birth certificates. But either that data, or the image should still exist. No way they only kept the information for the "short form", aka "Certification". For one thing, in some cases, the short form wouldn't even be accepted as proof of citizenship for a US Passport. For example, if the date accepted by the (state) registrar was more than a year after the date of birth. Then the State Department wants to see the original "long form". Besides as recently as early June, the state of Hawaii's own Hawaiian Lands Program website was instructing those who wished to apply to supply the long form certificate of birth, AND GIVING INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO OBTAIN IT, rather than the short form "Certification".
I discovered for myself, when I went to get a quote, that the Lands program website had been changed. But even then it did not say that the long form had not been availble since 2001, just that is was no longer available. I did this before I read of the change on World Net Daily.
