Spokesman Phillip Crowley told reporters on Thursday that remarks made by deputy spokesman Robert Wood earlier this week had been "misinterpreted."
Asked at a press briefing on Tuesday whether the US was considering putting financial pressure on Israel to get it to comply with US demands, Wood had said: "It's premature to talk about that."

I noticed the same thing. It is an Orwellian reiteration of the original threat couched in language that pretends it is not saying exactly what it is saying.
If the US puts financial pressure on Israel, to pressure them into giving up their covenant land, GOD Almighty will put EXTREME PRESSURE on this country’s finances.
Extreme pressure is already here. We are bankrupt, no matter what the liberal media says.
