One reason Barack Obama may think the Cambridge Police Department is "stupid" is that he has a grudge against the law enforcement agency.
Obama, who attended Harvard Law School from 1988 to 1991, lived in Cambridge, and apparently didn't like the fact he was frequently hit with parking tickets.
In all Obama received 17 tickets for parking violations -- and never paid 15 of them until he was exposed by a local Massachusetts newspaper as a scofflaw.
According to a 2007 Associated Press story, Obama was a parking ticket deadbeat for more than a decade -- and only felt the need to pay the 15 outstanding parking tickets as his presidential campaign began in earnest in 2007.

He was just trying to level the parking/playing field - no doubt every other parking spot was taken by a white male.
Its too bad the stupid police did not catch him with cocaine back then.

In his defense, there is a law against parking while black.
I think it’s much simpler.
There is no question that both Obama and Henry Gates are bitter racists and they both have a chip on their shoulder.
They are both like a cocked gun, waiting to go off at the slightest incident they interpret as racial.
Obama covered up his racism quite well during the campaign but his facade is starting to crumble. You don’t sit in a church listening to Reverend Wright the racist preach Black supremacy and hate for whites week after week, year after year unless you harbor the same resentment and hate.
His unqualified statement without knowing the facts provides ample proof of his solidarity with the intent of Trinity United Church of Christ. That intent being black supremacy and theology.
What an unmitigated ass.
Gates stated in an interview that his mother hated all white people. (interesting that Gates claims to be more than 50% white and he married a white woman.) Obama’s mother seemed to prefer black men.
Hey, I once lived in Cambridge. Everyone knows that the Cambridge police have a special way of marking vehicles that are owned by blacks, and then ticketing them more frequently.
I think Obama only made his stupid comment about a case that he ADMITTED he knew NOTHING about, he wasn’t there...

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I understand that the Cambridge PD is one of the most “liberal” PD’s in America...
they almost “apologize” for arresting folks. LOL
It was 40 years ago, only for a very brief time (I was drafted away), and I didn’t even know what ‘conservative’ meant, then.
I was up in MA today and went into a blue collar place during the police union presser. The customers where 100% against Obama and feel he exposed himself as a racist by jumping on this in a heavy handed, unpresidential manner. And thats in a very liberal state!
Theres an almost palpable blowback coming from over-30- whites.
