I think it’s just making the best of a bad situation. The American lame-brains who can be sucked into the death cult are not paragons. Once captured, they can easily be flipped back, and will bring back their knowledge. Captured traitors need to pay a “bride price.” That’s the price of their protection under their new “owners.” That price is paid in actionable intelligence. Otherwise, all they deserve is a bullet in the neck.
