The local news showed a segment of Gates on what appeared to be a TV talk show. Don't know if that show was national or just local, since I barely caught it on my way out, but from what I did see, it was very troubling. There was Gates onstage saying that this was a rogue cop, and out in the audience were many young Black men listening very intently, and probably taking this man at his word that this was a racist incident. Gates should be ashamed at what he is doing, but I'm not going to hold my expecting him to man up and take responsibilitlty for his own actions. No, he'd rather be a coward and draw more people in to his racist views, and make no mistake, Gates is a racist, and the worst kind.
There was also an interview with someone who seemed to be a community activist, and he made the statement that since the Cambridge Police Department dropped the charge of disorderly conduct, then that shows that the Police did something wrong.
As soon as I read that the Cambridge Police Department dropped the charges, I thought to myself, that's a big mistake because people are going to react to it just the way that previous gentleman did, and now that our idiot President has gotten himself involved in this, it can only get worse.
Officer Crowly has made it clear though, tht he is not going to apologize....and believe me, he has made it *very* clear. Good for him.
From my perspective, I only have one word that sums up Gates: assh*le.
That stinkin dumb ass President of ours really showed his ass tonight. Utterly amazing.
