The date of publication was Sunday, August 13, 1961. If Barack H. Obama was born outside the U.S. it would have been necessary for his family to fly back to Hawaii within one week of his birth and file for the birth certificate no later than Friday, August 11, 1961 in order to be recorded and published on Sunday.

I find it quite unlikely that a mother her baby would embark on a transoceanic flight less than one week after birth. It’s not like crossing the border from Juarez.

Well, she did.

Wherever Barack was hatched, Stanley Ann was on a transoceanic flight within two weeks of his birth.

That's how she ended up in Susan Blake, her high school classmate's living room in the third week of August, 1961. According to Blake, Stanley Ann did not know how to change Barack's diapers.

So? If one part of the COLB is incorrect, why not another? He may well have been born earlier.

In actuallity, he need not have even been in Hawai`i for the birth certificate to be requested/filed for. His grandmother could have done it. They did have phones, and a cable to Hawai'i in 1961. In fact they had lines to Hawai'i in 1941, at least telegraph lines, the "war warning from the Chief of Staff of the Army , General Marshall, to the Commanding General, General Short, in Hawai`i, went commercial telegram, as the shortwave to Hawai'i was "out". It arrived at Fort Shaftner as the attack was under way.
