This quote from the press conference just blew my mind: "But having a public plan out there that also shows that maybe if you take some of the profit motive out, maybe if you are reducing some of the administrative costs, that you can get an even better deal, that's going to incentivize the private sector to do even better. And that's a good thing. That's a good thing."

So According to Obama. Taking profit away from doctors will make them want to do even better?? The whole press conference was a mess but especially this for me.

Without profit in healthcare there will be NO new innovations here for saving lives.....and the world will suffer because of it.....or...the Cleveland Clinic might move to...oh, India, or maybe an offshore floating ship.
Non profit health care=mediocre health care. I’d like to hear him say lets take the profit out the legal system. A not for profit lawyer, rarer than an honest politician.

So, if we take the profit motive out of farming, farmers will produce more food. If we take the profit motive out of home building, homes of higher quality will be built. If we take the profit motive out of computer design and manufacturing, higher quality more innovative computer products will result. Brilliant! Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before??

Excellent point.
Obama feels it is right and good to steal from the doctors, nurses, and hospitals by “taking” the profits from them. It’s not surprising that Obama feels he can force everyone into community service. Imagine that, the first so-called black president believes it’s OK to enslave all of the medical professionals. How’s that hope and change working for ‘ya?
The only “real” profits left in health care are for tort lawyers ... bet he won’t do anything about that.
