Biden Admits Plagiarism in School But Says It Was Not 'Malevolent' - (Public Does Not Know)
NY Times ^ | September, 1987 | EJ Dionne

Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., fighting to salvage his Presidential campaign, today acknowledged ''a mistake'' in his youth, when he plagiarized a law review article for a paper he wrote in his first year at law school.

Mr. Biden insisted, however, that he had done nothing ''malevolent,'' that he had simply misunderstood the need to cite sources carefully. And he asserted that another controversy, concerning recent reports of his using material from others' speeches without attribution, was ''much ado about nothing.''

Mr. Biden, the 44-year-old Delaware Democrat who heads the Senate Judiciary Committee, addressed these issues at the Capitol in a morning news conference he had called expressly for that purpose. The news conference was held just before he presided over the third day of hearings on the nomination of Judge Robert H. Bork to the Supreme Court.

I know it's old, yet no one knows about it, and liberals' jaws hit the ground in disbelief when I puncture their worlds with this. He plagiarized again in 1988 when stealing Neil Kinnock's speech note for note, which means he has not morally grown. I think it he is not morally fit to be Vice President. Please send this article to everyone who has the temerity to complain about Sarah Palin's trumped up ethics charges.

Throw in Tony Reszko as well.

I doubt Bidden is smart enough to graduate legally from anything.

My husband just kicked 3 people out of his class, yesterday, for plagiarizing on term papers. Automatic ‘F’, as well. Funny how students presume profs don’t do ‘their research’. Hehe.

How do you not know plagiarism is wrong? They beat you over the head with it. I am about to start taking an online course and I will required to put all of my ‘papers’ to a plagiarism testing software system.

I’m surprised the NY Slimes has not erased this and burned all hard copies.

“It wasn’t malevolent.” = “I’m a Democrat, cut me some slack.”

“How do you not know plagiarism is wrong?”

You do. I’ll be honest, I had more of a problem with how he handled it than with the fact he did it. Look, a lot of us did things when we were young that were wrong. I surely did. The difference is, those of us who “grew up” admit the things we did were wrong and are truly sorry for doing them. Those who didn’t “grow up” try to cover up and make excuses. I found Biden to be in the latter category.-—JM

If your children get caught cheating on their sham public school lessons, see if this line works for them like it did for Biden.

It will if they follow two rules.

1. Smile.

2. Have a dumptruck full of money parked outside the door of the school.

What a liar. I was taught not to plagiarize in school and am not as old as he appears to be.

It's wrong and people knew it then just as they know it now.
