I definitely think contacting one’s congress critter is a great idea, but lying about my address removes all my credibility. Also, it seems to me that the staffers screening the e-mail will likely recognize the address and bin them.
Hey, Four Peas. I did a bunch of thinking about the "plausible consistuent address" thing, and I finally came to the conclusion that it is dishonest. The Representative has a
legitimate interest in sorting out who's in his district and who isn't. If I circumvent his mail-sorting method, I am actually undermining the whole idea of constituent-representative communication.
Therefore -- whether it "works" or not is irrelevant here---I think I was wrong.
I am not going to use my "plausible constituent adresses." In fact, I am going to destroy the ones I compiled (a couple dozen) which I had stored on my computer.
