I thought 'nicked' was slang for stolen? My understanding is that 'nicked' can be used both as slang for stolen as well as for being arrested.
I'm sure that our friend Manc or other Brit Freepers can verify.

I thought 'nicked' was slang for stolen? Yes. but also means arrested. As in the Old Style Brit Police Caution: "You're nicked, Sunshine!"
