Interesting. So liberals tax the people who need it for medical purposes while those who use it for recreation are off the hook. lol

That's true only if you think that most of the maryjowanna sold in Oakland is actually for medical purposes. A prescription does not require a real medical need, just a license to write prescriptions.

You can’t get a prescription. It’s against the law.

Which makes this even more of a farce. They should’ve just legalized it, THEN taxed it, as they’re discussing statewide.

Good point. It seems to me that a government that goes into the vice business whether it is drugs or gambling has proven that it is corrupt. When we see individuals turning to these vices as a source of income, we understand that they have reached a very bad spot. We need an intervention with our government.

Since it is now seen to be a legal “medication”, what would stop the city from taxing other legal medications? Big can of worms IMO.

What shoulod the Golden State do to balance the budget? I have a few suggestions.
1. Make gambling legal—at least let racetracks have slots.
2. Lower the gambling-drinking age to 18.
3. Make Prostitution legal and tax it.
4. Legalize Polygamy and tax it.
5. Sell off some state land for development.
6. Sell off the offshore oil leases.
7. Open the state to Nuclear Power plants.
8. Lower taxes on Movie Makers to get Hollywood moving.
9. Charge Illegal Aliens to come in to the state and work—$2,000 a person. Why should the Coyotes get the money?
10. Open up the gold mines by taking off all the eco-rules, let the gold dredges scoop again.
11. Fire a load of unneeded state workers.
12. Use Chain Gangs to repair the roads.
