Do not misunderstand my post as a defense of telemarketers. I hate them. Should they call my house despite being on the do-not-call list, I'm never less then mean.
I also work from home (virtual-worker) and have a “NO Soliciting” sign 2 inches above the doorbell. I nearly came to blows with a couple guys who chose to ignore that sign and then didn't have the good sense to walk quietly away when called on it. When I tell someone to get off my porch, the rules of engagement are much more on my side when compared with someone who calls my house.

(Never have I felt so politically radical and I swear I didn't move an inch.)

I consider anyone calling me uninvitied the same as home invasion. I feel no obligation to be nice or polite whatsoever. I finally just got a cell and never give out the number.
Only like 5 people got it and I don’t know the number myself, so I can’t give it to you, even if I was so inclined. I also never carry it unless going out of town. I do keep it by my computer for my wife to call when necessary. Basically I hate the phone.
