Repealing Erisa

One by one, President Obama’s health-care promises are being exposed by the details of the actual legislation: Costs will explode, not fall; taxes will have to soar to pay for it; and now we are learning that you won’t be able to “keep your health-care plan” either.

The reality is that the House health bill, which the Administration praised to the rafters, will force drastic changes in almost all insurance coverage, including the employer plans that currently work best. About 177 million people—or 62% of those under age 65—get insurance today through their jobs, and while rising costs are a problem, according to every survey most employees are happy with the coverage. A major reason for this relative success is a 1974 federal law known by the acronym Erisa, or the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

Next time, ask the people at AARP how old they are. Ask them if they love their children, grand children and their friends. And ask them if they are happily going to be the first in line for euthanasia when Obama’s henchies start asking for geezer volunteers to die.

All the greedy geezers at AARP care about is what they can get from taxpayers today. Apparently they are too dumb to realize that they will be the first ones denied care when health care is nationalized. They think they will get even more freebies than they do now.

Obama health worker: "Hello Mrs. AARP Geezer. What can we do for you today?"

AARP Geezer: "Well, my doctor said I need a triple heart bypass and after that I need both hips replaced."

Obama health worker: "Well, I'm afraid that you are TOO EFFING OLD for heart surgery and hip replacement surgery. You're just NOT WORTH IT! Here's a bag of vicodin. Now just go somewhere and die and leave us alone won't you? Thanks, I knew you'd understand. After all, you voted for Obama, and you supported Obamacare."

Exactly!

In the case of a Britsh grandma, 61 was considered too old for her to be treated for an arrhytmia!

Of course, the current AARP members figure they will get their share of the goodies and pass on before the rationing starts.

Even if private insurance wasn’t outlawed (overtly or covertly), the other “poison pills” in the bill would make the private market so toxic that companies would dump their coverage and tell their employees to go sign up for the goverment plan.
