Why haven’t any members of the Loyal Opposition pushed, screamed, yelled and otherwise agitated to make SURE that any health care reforms apply to Congress as well? Imagine the headlines they could garner, leading the charge!
Obvious answer: They like their sweetheart deal on health care, along with immunity from Social Security and labor laws, a heavenly retirement plan, etc. So, screw you little guys ... we’re keeping our bennies!

There was a Senator, I believe, from either Oklahoma or Texas that introduced a bill that would have required members of Congress who voted for the health care reform be required to enroll in it. Not just themselves, but their families too. I don’t remember this guy’s name, but he’s a doctor. I also don’t recall if it passed, I don’t think it did.
Actually Sue Myrick of North Carolina is introducing a bill to that effect. I heard her on the radio yesterday — she said that the “cram down” for this bill is crazy and she’s never seen anything like it. She also stated that Americans should have the freedom to choose their healthcare — and that if this travesty passes, all of Congress AND the Executive Branch need to adhere to it as well — no EXCEPTIONS!
