Savage doesn’t like contractors cooking in the Army.
It’s good for contractors to cook so that soldiers can concentrate on being soldiers.
It’s ridiculous to train people to be warriors and then put them in the kitchen.

I think what the Marines do is the best idea:
“every man a rifleman”
cooks, dishwashers, supply guys, etc.
