There's this crowd who thinks they can "punish the Republicans" by staying home.

Republicans don't think like most Democrats, something you apparently deeply regret. Nominate some RINO who goes against the conservative Republicans on several major issues, and a fair number will stay home and look for a better candidate next time. Sort of like the RINO Jerry Ford won over Reagan in 1976.

Nothing you or anyone else can do about it.

I think you want to discuss a different topic. If so, I'm happy to argue the place of the bi-modal saddle in the analysis of the voting public in this country.

If you want to discuss RINOs we can talk RINOs but you've got to agree to the correct definitions and not wobble all over the place. And Fur Shur, don't screw up what "Country Club Republican" means ~ it doesn't mean a guy who plays golf.
