If legalized, I think you would see stronger marijuana come out to get people really addicted to it. It’s also called a gateway drug for a reason.

Marijuana is not psysiologically addicting, so whether it is more potent or not is irrelevant.

I think it is kind of hypocritical in the fact that Smoking can be hazardous to your health and the government taxes smoking in order to supposedly offset healthcare costs to smokers - when in fact the government now wants to legalize Pot so that they can tap into a new revenue source. What bothers me is that Pot smoke is more harmful to a person's health - why would they promote that when they have been trying to eliminate smoking cigarettes? Won't the ramifications of pot smoking be more prevalent with the legalization?

Alcohol is a much stronger gateway drug than the ganja. I have a friend that is a law officer and he said he would much rather pull over a car load of potheads than drunks becuase drunks can get very violent and potheads are mellow. I have friends that smoke and they are very reasonable people and only do pot and drink a little. I guess I am a Libertarian on the issue.

Because we certainly cannot admit publically that alcohol is the number 1 gateway drug of all time.

Yep..., I’ve seen enough dumbos smoking weed and getting nothing done in their lives to know what a wreck this country would be in (more so than even now...).
And..., on top of that, you’ve got a group of FReepers wanting to smoke up a storm, too... LOL...

Marijuana isn't physically addictive. I can go w/o smoking it for long periods of time & it never bothers me one bit. I oftentimes go w/o smoking it simply because I want to. If the supply in my area happens to be low, I say "So what?". It's no big deal. Out of all of the people I have smoked w/ over the last 3+ decades, I have yet to meet ANYONE that has ever craved marijuana or said that they can't do their daily business w/o it. Not one.

Marijuana is addictive in the same sense that sports gambling is addictive. Read up and drop your prejudices.
Alcohol, well that’s another story. It kills. A lot.

Marijuana is not physically addictive ... it might be psychologically addictive ,, calling it a “gateway” drug is VERY deceptive ,, the governments mislabeling/scheduling of marijuana forces people that wish to buy it to deal with dealers that sell the dangerous drugs ,, meth/speed/various pills/heroin/opiates,cocaine and derivatives.
