I get a form from Anal Sphincter about the EFCA. So I go to fill out my response, which you can easily imagine. When its time to send the message, what I have written has been replaced by some leftist bs from the Demrat party.

This message is not going to Arlen, but is now supposed to go to CEOs or owners of companies.

Cute, huh?

I heard that last week! This bill is a disaster waiting to happen.

Last week! I'm so behind. I love my job, and I'm very lucky to have it, but they don't allow us to listen to the radio or stream from the internet, so I haven't heard Rush for 6 months! I record the show and listen to a little at night, but there's never enough time. My ancient car won't support an MP-3 player; otherwise my 2-hour commute (round trip) would be an ideal listening time. I must figure out a solution....

Dennis Prager was reading yesterday from page 16 of the bill, in which it stated that you can keep your current private insurance, but that as of 1 Jan in the year it's signed, no one can enroll in private insurance. It wouldn't take more than a few years for private insurance to close for lack of business.

So I've read also. Early next year I turn 65 and will have to take on Medicare. I had planned on replacing my PPO plan with BlueCross/BlueShield during this coming Oct's open enrollment window. It would not become effective until Jan 1, 2010. Now, I don't know what to do. This bill MUST BE KILLED and not "compromised down".

That’s a nasty trick. Did it automatically send “your” response, too?

That’s why so many of their threats to boycott, etc. are taken so seriously by companies. They pull these types of tricks all the time.

I think you can download them to an I-pod and just use headphones to listen while you drive. Nothing needed from the car.

Does you car have a cigarette lighter? My husband’s mp3 player plugs inot his cigarette lighter and somehow streams through his radio.

It is frightening, isn't it? And there's something going on in Kentucky with Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Anthem. Many doctors and hospitals are now refusing to accept them. My friend in Louisville mentioned it over the weekend.

IMPR, do you know what's going on?

USDA: 760,000 pounds of ham for $1.2M By Sam Youngman Posted: 07/20/09 11:33 AM [ET] Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack pushed back Monday against reports his agency spent $1.2 million in economic stimulus funds on a two-pound ham.

Visack said the department actually bought 760,000 pounds of ham with funds from the $787 billion stimulus, which the GOP has attacked as wasteful spending.

“Press reports suggesting that the Recovery Act spent $1.19 million to buy ‘2 pounds of ham’ are wrong,” Vilsack said in a statement. “In fact, the contract in question purchased 760,000 pounds of ham for $1.191m, at a cost of approximately $1.50 per pound.”

Visack put out the statement after the Drudge Report posted several contracts from the government’s stimulus website. The contracts suggested the administration has spent $1.19 million on 2 pounds of ham, $1.56 million for mozzarella cheese and $16.8 million on canned pork, among other items. Republicans blasted around screen shots from the Drudge Report highlighting the contracts as wasteful spending.

None of the contracts indicated how much food was purchased with the stimulus funds. Vilsack’s statement said his agency bought 837,936 pounds of mozzarella, for example.
