One of the most favored insiders in Representative John Murtha’s rich churn of defense earmarks has pleaded guilty to criminal charges, shedding light on a twisting, pay-to-play money trail. The contractor, Richard Ianieri, admitted taking $200,000 in bribes from another big defense contractor in the Murtha orbit, and is cooperating with investigators.
“What’s that got to do with me?” commented Mr. Murtha, who previously lavished praise and tens of millions of dollars in contracts on the two companies caught up in the criminal investigation.
He asks an ever more urgent question. Investigators have not identified him as a target. But the inquiry is backtracking a trail of hundreds of millions awarded to Pentagon contractors who gratefully requited with tens of millions in political donations to Democrats on the appropriations subcommittee headed by Mr. Murtha.

We have a bunch of crooks in charge of writing and voting on legislation. The country is flat broke and these maggots are feasting on the corpse. The democRat party is a criminal enterprise.

Wrong. The dem leaders are a criminal enterprise. When they have full control, everyone will get the shaft. And since dems are not deep thinkers they will be eliminated before the rest because we can work and provide the money.
A classic case of voters being dazzled by a “veteran” who is really a Demorat exercising his blood-sucking instincts. When Murtha characterized his constituents as rednecks, I thought they would get the message. Silly me. Maybe now the people of PA can figure it out - although the people of MA still haven’t - they keep electing Kerry & Kennedy. What is it about these people that they can’t get rid of these cancers, but instead re-elect them? The only hope now is that some prosecutors will go after them - any prosecutors out there that haven’t ben corrupted yet?
Murtha definitely deserves to be disgraced for his many years of corruption. A lot of us are hoping the current fed investigation will nail him, only time will tell.

Obama and Rahm ordered the NY Times to go after Murtha.
That’s a possibility, other left-wing media have gone after him also.
