And one of the ‘dirty little secrets’ is that Mexicans working at fast food joints, doing gardening work, etc., also apply for and get welfare in California. Because of course you have a bunch of Mexicans working at the welfare offices, and they rubber stamp Mexican welfare applications. And so the state goes bankrupt.
But hey, your produce at the supermarket is 6 cents cheaper, so look at all we get in return.........

It makes me believe that the state managers of these welfare programs not only know that this fraud occurs, but the WANT it to occur because it boosts their numbers: the bigger the numbers, the more good they are doing (and the more staff they can employ).

But program officials and advocates for welfare recipients say the statistic masks the fact that California's welfare system is one of those government rarities: a program that actually works. Yes, it works exactly as intended, they've been able to buy votes for Democrats with public money for decades.
