Actually, the millions who vote should only be voting for their representatives in the House. The senators are elected by the state legislatures. The president by the electoral college. The state legislators are of course elected by the people, but that still removes the senators from direct election. The senators represent the interests of the sovereign state governments.

And apply strict term limits to all and restrict their staff budgets to reduce the power bases. Perhaps even reduce the jobs of all legislators to part time positions. The fewer days that they serve in office the less damage they can do.

We don’t need or want all these millions of pages of legislation and regulations the churn out.

Government should be restricted. Freedom should be unlimited.

But .. my theory was that if you get enough of the “patriot” kind of people in congress .. then your outline would be easier to put into effect.

If the only goal is “power” - then it’s going to be a tough slog to get anything done.
