The problem is our government, WH and Congress and “Regulators” have been corrupted by elite wealthy oligarchs money. Once in Congress it is difficult to replace them, and the longer they are in Congress the more corrupt they get. The oligarchs want to destroy the lower and middle classes and enrich themselves with our tax dollars. Why aren’t the banksters in jail or under indictment? They are in bed with .gov and .gov will not bite the hand that feeds them.

Boycott all TARP Banks, pay off your credit cards, limit purchases to necessities, reduce your income tax by earning less, starve the beast( .gov and its master (BANKS).

I think the media would downplay the action.

Meanwhile Congress would begin working on laws to prevent more marches from angry voters.

Don’t get me wrong - I would LOVE to see a massive march on Washington.

But you’d better be ready for the unbiased, non partisan, activist left wing media slamming.

Jim Thompson what would happen if millions of Americans marched on IRS offices? The source of their power is the power to tax.

“...Education and unions are states issues...”

Education, I agree, but federal employees are unionized. That has to end.

Attended a great T.E.A. Party today. Photos and report to follow.

Met several FReepers there.

Thanks for all you do, Jim.

So are you proposing to sit down and refuse to disperse? I have not problem with that - we have to cause a peaceful ruckus. Because Congress needs to feel - somehow - the threat of continued demonstrations. Otherwise, the will continue to ignore us and will destroy the USA.

My only reservation is the fact that the majority is not with us.

That's where you're wrong. The majority IS with is. Look at the latest Rasmussen polls, Obama's "strongly support" numbers are down to the low thirty's. The "strongly oppose" are in the high thirty/low forties range AND CLIMBING. He's at a -8 approval rating and that gap widens with each passing week.

The majority IS with us. So many are sitting on the sidelines waiting for someone ELSE to start the revolution. I believe it in my heart of hearts that this country is yearning for the revolution. We witness what's happening in Iran as the protests and demonstrations continue to this day (even though our own media will no longer show it) and Honduras, knowing that the American's who OPPOSE OBAMA sit by wondering when our time is coming.

Our time is NOW.

We owe it to ourselves, our children and indeed the world to show them that WE own the Government, not the other way around.

If not now, when? If not us, who?

Thanks. If we’re out of time...what’s the point?

The point is that the politicians in Washington will hear us roar, in numbers too big to ignore. FR isn't the only web site advocating a march on Washington. September 12, 2009 - mark your calander.

I don’t think we’re out of time. But I also feel like there’s complete disarray on one side while the other side has a majority and the media in cahoots with them. But I sense that people ARE waking up to the realities of what has happened in a really short time.

We're very nearly out of time. People are waking up - there were around 1 million participants in the nationwide tea parties on April 15, and the talk at most concerned the enormous unconstitutional power grab that is now taking place. And these people were not all republicans - we had democrats, libertarians, and other independent people (like me) at our event. And the sentiment was almost universal - the federal government is out of control. It is spending money it does not have. It is bankrupting our children. It is regulating freedom out of existence. It is advocating theft from the earners to buy votes from the deadbeats (an old trend, but it's accelerated drastically since the commie stepped into the White House).

The anger is unprecedented, and it needs to be put to use. Peacefully, if possible.

I guess there’s a tendency for people to say, whatever Jim wants, they are with him and just shut up and cheerlead.

Feel free to submit any viable ideas - I don't cheerlead, and I don't think that most here do. Being in agreement with somebody is far different from being labelled a 'cheerleader'.

I DO cheerlead the idea of us low-level terrorists doing something while we can, but the specifics have to be clearly laid-out. Also, is this meant to be a group of concerned Americans whose views are conservative, or an armed group of people who are the FURTHEST right?

Low level terrorists? Where did THAT come from? Has somebody advocated taking down airliners or storming city hall? No, I doubt it. And if they did, their post would be removed swiftly. You seem to have a mind to categorize armed people as some sort of extremist group - nothing could be farther from the truth. I'm conservative, I'm armed, and I know a little about the constitution. Just like millions of other people in this country.

I also know the purpose of the second amendment, and I'm not shy about admitting that. If that strikes you as being a low-level terrorist, then I would have to wonder if you're in favor of maintaining and restoring our freedoms or if you believe, as the left and RINO's do, that the state is superior to the individual.

In short, what are the specific reasons people should join this protest?

A growing problem in this country, which started long before Obambi took office, has been the tendency of our elected REPRESENTATIVES (not leaders) to ignore the will of those that elect them, and to ignore the specific language of the Constitution of the United States. This tendency accelerated over the last year or two as the politicians become bolder and bolder at imposing their will on the very people that put them in office.

Since Obambi and the democrats have taken control of the government, our voices have been totally ignored as the political/media machine has assumed dictatorial control of this country. Looking back at the first two amnesty attempts when Republicans were in charge, it was apparent that they wanted to ignore us but were overwhelmed by the strong dissent to their activities. No more - the democrats have chosen to refuse to listen.

For those reasons, we, the people need to show strength. We need to put up a strong message, and we need to put up huge numbers. We need to overwhelm Washington so strongly that they cannot ignore us any more.

Our local tea party was a powerful, motivating event for me and the 3000 others that chose to attend. We had inspirational speakers and an enthusiastic crowd. If we can duplicate that on a grand scale in Washington, the hard left will have to realize that they have made a grave error in underestimating the reaction of the American people to their attempted coup.

It's time to act en masse. Either that, or things will have to get really ugly to save this republic.

I’m not only not with you, I’m against you.

You're a symptom of the problem. You're too afraid to take on the very establishment that's subjogating you to be its indentured servant, and too brainwashed into defending it by fighting against the very people who would defend your freedoms against it.

Please don't post to me any further. I don't wish to know people like you.

I think he believes that we can converge upon Washington D.C. with a peaceful, OVERWHELMINGLY LARGE group of Americans and DEMAND change IMMEDIATELY and order them to CEASE and DESIST. And I support that.

Belive me when I tell you that I'd really like to believe the above, again. I used to believe that, truly I did.

Then we had the 2008 elections, ACORN's corrupt activities in stealing the election, Obama's directives to his minions to engage those of us who disagree with him in 'street fights' and his theft of trillions of dollars of your, my, and our grandchildren's money, enslaving three generations to pay back the Communist Chinese.

I firmly believe in my heart that this SOB who occupies the White House is doing his level best to destroy this country, so it can be "remade" the way he wants it: A large, socialist government that intervenes in every aspect of our lives.

Nope, no thanks. Not for me, not what I (or you) want for our children.

Maybe the 2010 elections will change things. Maybe it is 1993 all over again (as I posted on my blog) a few months back.

But I have to tell you, my frustration level with this illegal, corrupt Government that daily seizes more and more power Un-Constitutionally usurping States rights and our own personal freedoms really has me thinking that we're at the end of our ropes, and that nothing short of a full-on Revolution is going to stop the trajectory this country is now on.

I hope and pray I'm wrong, but something in my heart of hearts tells me I'm not.

Thanks for your thoughtful response, peace to you.

I agree. I think that’s why Beck’s “we surround them” message
resonated.

I believe they know it, too. I heard Obama’s message yesterday that we needed to not argue and bicker over this legislation (health care) but pass it now or we might not get another chance for generations.

If it’s GOOD legislation, why the now or never tone?

Good, reasonable legislation should be timeless, no?

When we are convinced that there is no other alternative than the forceable, physical removal of our representatives in D.C.

I missed this in my first read of your reply and I'm curious: what would convince you that there is no other alternative?

I think we should try non-violence first. How about a revolutionary fife and drum march of knee sock, powdered wig patriots, followed by a Mohatmed Ghandi stand in, wearing a diaper and carrying a walking stick. Then the Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln and John Kennedy dopplegangers follow on.
That should have some theatric moral force. Remember whatever is done, should be eye candy for the evening news.

Yep, I'm not too sure about Hillary being given the reigns of power. There's got to be a way to get General Petraeus in there, right? /sarc

I am ready regardless of the fact that he has over 50% overall approval. I am absolutely convinced that our fellow countrymen are deluded. It does, however, make civil disobedience even more dangerous.
