Duke University Associate Director and Professor, 42 year old Frank McCorkle Lombard, was arrested Wednesday on June 24 after an Internet sting by the FBI. The police were tipped off by an informant that claimed to have witnessed Lombard via webcam molesting an African American boy under the age of ten. Later Lombard, a successful openly gay man, in an online chat with an undercover police officer claimed to have adopted the 5 year old child and that he specifically chose an African American boy because
"they were easier to adopt than white children" and he went further to say "that the abuse was easier when the child was too young to talk or know what was happening".
He also claimed to have drugged the child with Benadryl. He went on to offer his adopted son for sex acts to the undercover officer. At the time of the arrest two African American boys were removed from the property owned by Frank and his male partner Kenneth W. Shipp at the Eno Commons commune located at 24 Indigo Creek Trail, Durham, North Carolina 27712.
The commune was billed on its website until shortly after Lombard's arrest as a gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender friendly community and was founded and developed by Lesbian Activist and senior Durham City Attorney, Sherri Zann Rosenthal, who worked with and defended Mike Nifong as related to the Duke Lacrosse case saying "Those of us who know Mike professionally mostly think he is a decent guy,..." and that he "had a fairly progressive approach to prosecuting crime" and of the players "...they were no angels". She goes further to state in his defense in an online newsgroup:
"David Evans hired two "dancers" for the team party at his house. There was underage drinking. Neighbors on the night of the party heard team members shouting at the women about cotton picking, and other sexist and racist comments. There was the e-mail from another member of the team saying he would hire another stripper and skin her, with more vivid racist language."
No statement has been released by the commune or Ms. Rosenthal but all references to the community being gay friendly and open to all adult sexual relationships have now been removed from the commune website. Reporters making further inquiries have been kicked out. Duke University has also removed all references to Frank Lombard. A makeshift roadblock with a no trespassing sign and a Subaru acting as a blockade greeted visitors to Indigo Creek Trail, a private street leading into the 22-home commune, the Saturday after Lombard's arrest. Several other Duke employees also reside in this close knit commune where tasks such as repairs, baby sitting, and meals are shared.
Media sources outside the local media have largely refused to report on this new Duke rape case or the fact this case involves a gay man who was raising two African American children with his male partner. Lombard was also a prominent member of the vestry at the Liberal Episcopal church of The Advocate in Carrboro, North Carolina. The arrest affidavit lists Lombard's alleged actions, including alleged performance of oral sex with the child in front of a webcam, and sodomizing the boy with his finger and tongue. Frank Lombard faces a maximum of 20 years in prison if convicted of the charges.
Lombard, a licensed clinical social worker with a masters degree in social work, has worked at Duke since 1999 and was associate director of the university's Center for Health Policy. He was placed on unpaid administrative leave last Thursday. Kenneth W. Shipp, his partner, also works at Duke University as a clinical pharmacist involved in drug trials and has not been implicated in this crime.
Sodom in America.
Maybe Fred Phelps et al. are right after all. *sigh*
He deserves a swift death.
Why am I not surprised the poofters were driving a Subaru?
The communes around Woodstock were somewhat sexually “relaxed’, but this commune seems to have not vetted its members at all. Neither did they check on member behavior. This leads to the possibility of group liability.

Well, now we know what it takes to get fired from Duke as a staff educator; You literally have to pimp your adolescent child out to homosexual predators.
Took long enough.
