I just heard the news that former CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite died. And perhaps I will be one of the few with the guts to be real and say it: I'm not sad to see this overrated liar go. Buh-bye.
Cronkite enjoyed a long and glamorous life, unlike many of our late teen and 20-something American troops against whom he editorialized on a nightly basis. They died on the killing fields of Vietnam in no small part because he contributed to the video demoralization of America and the resulting lack of commitment to help our boys win the Vietnam War.
I'm sure that Cronkite will be remembered gushingly by all of the liberal mainstream media robots whom he spawned and who idolize him (and probably many gutless idiots on the right, too). In so many ways, he is their Michael Jackson, minus the creativity and talent. In life, they already exalted Cronkite far, far beyond what he deserved and completely ignored his awful transgressions against our country.
Walter Cronkite Defeated America on TV But the man they called "The Most Trusted Man in America" was really something far different: The Most Destructive Man in America. And that is how he should be remembered. He had the blood of thousands of American men--some of them really just boys--on his hands.

Nice analysis - more should read it. Thinking of a book?
“How they had egg on their faces when it turned out to be a commie who killed him.”
But then the MSM decided that the commie was just the stooge of a conspiracy of rightwingers. They’re as slippery as snakes....
Good post, ETL.
Yes, and it needs a good FReep! It’s 87% yes right now.
Most of CBS’s key male reporters in Vietnam were shits. I couldn’t believe how much other mainstream reporters hated them - Rather, Safer, Brewster.
And the soldiers hated Rather with a passion. He was arrogant and a liar and anti-American. Some wanted to shot him when he was up in I Corps. We could have put that down as “real friendly fire.”
Cronkite - an ignorant bastard.
McNamara - An arrogant ignorant bastard
Rather - from personal observation, a super-arrogant leftist bastard.
I’m a former Vietnam journalist and I approve my statements.
“Dont forget ... the KOS Kiddies, Huffies, and DUmmies are reading and scanning for hateful, racist comments...”
Really? Piss on them, Cronkite, and obammy!
“Debbie tells it like it is and was.”
I agree; Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish!
I really don't know.
Sing it Debbie!! I sure as hell don’t miss him.
.Is she right about St.Palin too?
And they weren't even the worst! At least they weren't actual COLONELS IN THE VIET CONG, like the Time Magazine guy...
Cronkite was a big one-worlder, globalist guy. I’m not particularly sad he’s gone. He did more to hurt us than help us, I don’t care what anyone else says about him.
Tell you what boy, I became a man in the Bong Son Plains in 66 and 67 while I was with the 1st Cav.
Money was promised to North Vietnam during the Paris talks. Nixon WAS STILL president and he reneiged on that promise resulting in further detention of the POWs.
You had better get your head out of your a$$ and get your shlt together.
Skysoldier Sir.
And by the way junior, I am 150% disabled thanks to my service there, and I do not regret a minute of my time served.
Kennedy?
Debbie, are you married?
bump with no comment.
I have a television guide from 1951 that did a little feature on Walter.
Cronkite was cutting a path on local Washington DC television back then and had some crazy ideas to share in the story.
He thought that the US and USSR would eventually come together once the Soviets improved their poor economy.
He actually believed the Soviet economic system could improve....
I may write it up and post it this weekend.
Honestly, no joke, I thought he died years ago....
‘Walter Cronkite is another one who had better have a VERY good drainage system around his grave site as there are millions of Viet Nam vests who are waiting patiently to water the flora an fauna in that immediate vicinity!’
Thank you for defining another goal for my life.
So much to do, so little time.
