“What has happened slowly over the years is that the feds and the media have gradually conned the electorate into believing that government is good and means well. We have largely lost the instinctual fear and loathing of large, centralized tyrannical government that our forefathers came here to escape.”

I have often asked people how they can possibly expect the government to solve their problems, the most casual acquaintance with history informs a person that the vast majority of human woes are created by the excesses of government. The people who should be in charge are seldom attracted to government, those who should never be intrusted with responsibility flock to government in huge droves. The worst kind of human, those who think they know what needs to be done for our own good, cannot resist running for office.
Well said, and all the more reason to always resist expansion of government. The bigger it is, the exponentially worse it is for the reason you’ve explained.
Further, more and more, government employment is becoming a dumping ground for people otherwise unemployable, forced off welfare, etc.. I think we’ll see that trend skyrocket under ostammer.
Completely true in my walk of life
