ROMNEY - for when the GOP really, really, wants to lose.
Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers, some of whom are currently working for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin's bid for the White House,
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide, now working for McCain-Palin.
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
He's in charge on November 5th.'"
The Prowler added: "Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."
The Romney supporters in the McCain campaign had access to internal polling which indicated well in advance of the November 4 election that McCain had no chance to win.
So they began working to position their man Mitt for a run in 2012. Just two days after the election,The Palmetto Scoop reported:
"One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"Im told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palins people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romneys former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
These aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"Heres what I think: I think there are some staffers on the McCain campaign who seriously screwed up the roll out of Sarah Palin, to which Governor Palin herself objected.
These staffers are now out trying to finish her off thinking, as typical D.C. types do, that if they dont do it to her, shell do it to them. They just never understood who Palin is or what she is about."
"Likewise, I do think there are some staffers and others who expect Mitt Romney to run again in 2012,
they decided McCain could not win, and decided to undermine Sarah Palin and her chances hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

over 70% of GOPers said they would vote for her for President if she was nominated And that's supposed to be good?
Imagine the rejoicing you would have seen here one year ago if a poll had come out saying that "over 70%" of Democrats would vote for Obama in the general election. It would have been (correctly) viewed as a portent of political doom.

Palin’s numbers are fine. She is polling better against Obama than McCain did and she hasn’t even started. I am not sure why anyone would defend CBS, when everyone knows what their agenda is.

Romney has been at this for many years, personally and organizationally, even his 2008 campaign was a 150 million dollar advertising campaign about imaging solely Mitt Romney.
Since Governor Palin has recently appeared on the national stage the media has been covering and promoting Romney with the love that they they always give their favorite GOP boy, yet with all that and with no positive media coverage for Palin and the resignation, look at these numbers . I see Romney as usual unable to reach any great level of acceptance, in this case he is still at 26%, Palin is at 21% and when I look at the rest of the current choices I think that Palin would pull the most voters from that remaining 53% that are backing Huckabee and Newt and the others right now, Romney is the least likely to ever be able to suddenly attract a fresh new look from voters.

We cant even agree among us as to what defines a RINO. We just know we dont like them. I think a RINO is anyone who does not agree with me 100 percent.
Sounds like drivers on the road - only two types - morons who drive slower than I do and idiots who drive faster.

Why would you compare the democrat party nominee of July 2008 in the second half of a 700 million dollar campaign blitz to the November finish line of his winning election, to today's polling of Governor Palin as a possible for 2012?
Just what is your agenda anyway?

I still think Romney did more to hurt the GOP in the primaries than the bungling campaign managers at team McCain did in the general. I do to, Romney is in this for some unknown purely personal reason and in my opinion the closest he comes to having any ideology is that he has a vague inherited family tradition of despising conservatism and conservatives.

The reality is that she has a base of about 20%, and no traction whatsoever beyond it.Gallup report it and you believe it.

"Jindal IS a natural born citizen. U.S. law recognizes two types of U.S. citizen, naturalized and natural born. Jindal was, by the act of being born, a U.S. citizen; thus a natural born citizen."FWIW, neither one of Bobby's parents were US citizens at the time of his birth. Does that matter?

Wrong, the requirements for president says at least one parent must be a citizen of the country.
Second you are wrong about the act of being born in this country, the supreme court ruled that the children born to coolies working on the railroad were not citizens and they were sent home.
To: org.whodat
Wrong. The requirement is that they be a natural born citizen (i.e. by the act of being born they became a U.S. citizen, as opposed to a “naturalized” citizen).
If there is a requirement for a President that at least one parent be a citizen of this country then please cite this law as it is NOT mentioned in the Constitution Article II which discusses the qualifications for the office.

And before you proceed further claiming that so and so can run, because of location of birth, remember there are many middle eastern billionaires that have children born in this country.
How many of you wish to open the door so that any of them can buy the presidential office for their kids. Hard to defeat a person that can spend a billion are two of his own money. The founding fathers wanted to prevent this.

No need to be “angry” at those who are captive to the hollow and deceptive philosophies of this world.
When it comes down to it, there are only two worldviews.
The biblical worldview, and all the others based on lies.

Precisely. The offspring of a US Citizen is a natural-born citizen even if the birth takes place on the moon.
