He left Indonesia and came to the US to go to school. It’s not inconceivable that he told the school he was an Indonesian citizen to get a more favorable tuition rate.

Its not inconceivable that he told the school he was an Indonesian citizen to get a more favorable tuition rate. Not to mention getting accepted into a school such as Columbia/Harvard due to quotas for accepting foreign born students.
