School registrations generally do not require birth certificates. The registrar usually takes the parent’s word that the information on the application is correct.

******

Many United States high school districts require a student to present a birth certificate before he is allowed to play on a sports team.

Obama played on his Hawaii high school basketball team.

Does anyone know if Hawaii requires students, like Obama, to present a valid birth certificate before students can play on a high school basketball team? Thanks.

You’re right. Establishing the age of the student is a big deal now. Two words: Little League.

You have Dominicans claiming they are 12 when they are actually 16 - an advantage they use right up through the major leagues.

Would you give an Ace pitcher, whose 28 a fat four year major league pitching contract if he was actually 32?

You bet they demand documentation.
