The Rule of Law vs The Will of The People was the core issue between Bush and Gore. ... Why should this situation be any different?

William Jefferson Clinton was guilty of perjury and of suborning such. Rule Of Law did not win then.

Why should this be any different?

1996: 47,402,357 vs. 39,198,755 - Clinton beats Ken Starr by 8 million

2000: 50,456,002 vs. 50,999,897 - Rule of Law gets a token win

2008: 69,456,897 vs. 59,934,814 - Cult of Personality beats Rule of Law by 10 million

Probably about 6-7 million, I'd guess. That's where will of the people trumps rule of law, unfortunately.

Either way, by your own admission this is clearly now a judicial oligarchy, not a constitutional republic.

You're depending on one tiny branch to respect the Constitution when every other segment of the Republic has ignored it in this case: Electorate, Congress, outgoing POTUS, governors, state legislatures, generals, colonels, ambassadors, past presidents, etc, etc.

If so, how sad that America should end up like that.

In fact, I’m doing nothing of the sort, as I live in a Constitutional Monarchy.

It grieves me to see my American friends in this position, and I wonder how long it will be before they take away your guns. Because they shall surely take away your guns, without raising a whimper. We know this because they have already demonstrated that your Constitution isn’t worth the parchment it was written on.

And nobody — nobody — is saying “boo” to stop them.

Perhaps 1776 wasn’t such a good idea, ay.

Actually, in strict terms, the rule of law was followed in the Clinton impeachment. The Senate did not find that the crimes rose to the level of impeachment, although a lot of us disagreed: we wanted him removed from office. (However, I’ve often wondered whether that would that have guaranteed a Gore Presidency.)

Later, the Courts found him guilty and he was disbarred in Arkansas. Again, some of us were rooting for jail time - at least as long as Martha Stewart got for allegedly lying to the FBI.
