If he had done this under Bush, would he have been an America-hating coward?
Liberal spy
Well, in my opinion no, I disagree with the war in Afghanistan, I think it would be great if the military refused to fight to protect Karzai and his poppy fields. However, no one could claim Bush wasn’t a citizen, so no such case would be brought forward.
And now that's all 0 has to do too - and that would be that.
“If he had done this under Bush.......”
Uh, he wouldn’t have had to do this under Bush, because Bush is an American.
What would have been his reason?
I don’t know, but if my cousin had done it under LBJ he’d still be alive.
Wouldn't have happened. Was there any question about President Bush's citizenship?
This is the second fishy post of yours I've spotted in the last little while. Sniff. Sniff.
Huh?
Nope, Bush provided all required paperwork to prove his eligibility. Therefore, he would have had no basis to refuse the order. Obama on the other hand, has ditched his entire past.
President Bush is a certified American citizen. He was the Commander in Chief, no doubt about it.
Why won't Obama disclose his long form birth certificate? What's the problem?
Why spend millions preventing his BC to be disclosed to the public and end this conjecture?
This soldier happens to love this country and wants to expose the Clown in Chief for what he is - a left-wing poseur bought and paid for by Soros and Co.
Smells like troll in here.
No Bush would have shown him his BC and told him to get on the plane. And you need to check out DU if you didn’t come from there.
My crystal ball is somewhat murky about your future here.
There was no doubt that Bush was a natural born citizen, fool.
I suspect if he had done this under Bush the administration would have lost no time at all providing proof GWB’s eligibility to hold the office.
This whole kerfuffle is silly. It could be settled in five minutes if just one person would come clean. Failure to do so only compounds the problem. The most durable rule of politics is that the cover up is always worse than the infraction.
Two things ensued: One, there was no commensurate surge in like objections across the breadth of my fellow military, which IMO shone the light of quirkiness upon the officer's objection. And Two, the mainstream media played up the "coward" angle by hitting up on conservative and populist news bites which by and large expressed chastisement at this officer for copping out like that. The media - being a leftist, dhimmi cesspool that we know it to be - used our righteous anger reaction to paint us as having yelled COWARD at the officer.
Quite different from Major Cook's challenge, which raises very real questions about the legality of being put in harms way by an illegal order.
These questions did figure prominently in nuremberg half a century ago. We in the military do have a standard for unlawful orders, as stipulated in the UCMJ. The Major, to borrow from current jargon surrounding this scandal, "has standing".

Would he have been an America hating coward?
No.
Are you? Enquiring minds would like to know.
What possible justification would he have for doing this under Bush?
Right, none.
Was GWB a NBC???
