PHILADELPHIA A federal judge has sentenced former Pennsylvania Sen. Vince Fumo to 55 months in prison for corruption convictions.
Federal prosecutors say the wealthy Fumo stole not because he needed money but because "he was drunk with power." They had sought a sentence of more than 15 years.
U.S. District Judge Ronald Buckwalter departed down from the guideline range of about 10 to 20 years, citing Fumo's public service.
Fumo also must pay about $2 million in restitution.

There are plenty of crooks in the rats nest
but for some reason I want this guy to do time
for what he has so obviously done.
I think my faith in the justice system
would then be restored, somewhat.
