I would have never avoided a deployment based on this argument. This is a mission started under President Bush's watch and it's one that is vital to American security. He needs to go and do his duty or resign his commission.

I think the major has every right and duty to challenge the legitimacy of the orders he’s received.

President Bush is no longer CIC. The major has every right to expect the CIC he takes commands from is legit.

Wake up - you lost your country. How is Afghanistan vital to our security when Muslims flood into the United States, the Saudis run the country and bought the last election with their Islamo puppet? I suggest you get out more and understand who the muslim Brotherhood, CAIR and other groups are and who funds them.

The corrupt in Washington DC is off the charts. The govt is totally corrupt and it comes down to aiding and abetting.

More than a few German soldiers finally woke up to realize Hitler was an Austrian usurper. Sadly not enough. Too many people are not paying attention and are too lazy to put down the clicker.

Sounds like this soldier understands what it means to uphold The Constitution.

The mission started under Bush; he’s no longer the president.

This Major takes his oath of office seriously.

I agree with you. But then again, if this soldier can get Obama booted, then he just saved this country from the enemy within.

If Zer0 is truly ineligible for the office, then any orders by him are illegal. Following “illegal orders” is a crime as many found out at Nuremberg after WW II.

He is willing to go just as soon as Obama can prove he meets the constitutional qualifications to order him to do so. He doesn’t have a problem with the war on terror; just wants to make sure the orders are lawful.

Your missing the point. The major has sufficient legal grounds under established black-letter military and civilian law here. Unless BHO can establish himself as a citizen of the US, he can’t be commander in chief.

That exposes any officer to the charge that they suspected the orders issued to them were illegal, and followed them anyway. That’s a war crime. It’s also a fair point.

Moreover, it’s a fairly inexpensive legal point to resolve, unless, of course, BHO isn’t a citizen. Most of us need the same documents being asked of BHO to enroll their kid into public school.

BHO can open access to the required documents and end this thing tomorrow morning.

The major can then be on his way to his post. The major is doing his job. He’s loyal to the Constitution, not the Pentagon. That’s the oath I took, at least.

Actually, if the Zero is NOT LEGALLY the President / Commander in Chief, ANY order issued by the President by other officers acting on behalf of the illegal President ... those orders would be “.... illegal”.

And as every soldier, sailor, airman and marine it taught, and is the outcome of the Nuremberg trials, that an illegal order is NOT to be obeyed. Therefor, if the officer believes that the order comes from someone not properly part of the chain of command, it is BEST for that officer to obtain legal guidance and confirmation from the courts.

Unfortunately, FR has some real bottom feeders posting here claiming to be conservatives. As the father of two soldiers currently in Iraq and one Marine combat veteran of Afghanistan I want to thank you for your 31 years service to our country.
