Kobach told the group he would fight for the requirement of providing proof of citizenship at election booths. He said photo identification is required when boarding a plane or buying certain spray paints and medication. He wants the same when trying to combat voter fraud.
A professor of law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Kobach kept the mood light with a political joke. He asked what President Obama and God had in common, with the punchline being neither has a birth certificate.
The difference between the two? God only takes 10 percent of a persons income, Kobach joked.
Tiahrt told Republicans in Tonganoxie he would fight for Kansas jobs if elected to the U.S. Senate and spoke about working in Washington, D.C., or, as he called it, Disneyland East.

Hey Sam. We don’t want to hear about how you guys are going to ‘fight to require proof of citizenship at election polling place’. We all know how you guys ‘fight’. What we want to hear is, ‘we will pass a bill and fund the enforcement of a bill requiring proof of citizenship at polling places, and we will shut down the government until we get one.’
Let me know when you have enough resolve to make that statement, Sam. Then I might get interested in what you have to say.
Why must you attack someone who is trying to do the right thing?
Life is easier for politicians who keep their heads down and don't try to do anything. If you actually try to help our side out, you get beat up!
Just in case anyone wants to know.
Oh wake up. You are obviously a novice in observing these people, otherwise you would know that I am right on the money. Our congressmen are phonies, gutless, do-nothing phonies who talk a great game and rarely follow through on anything. They have earned my cynicism. You’ll figure it out on your own at some point, I would hope.
You are obviously an arrogant know-it-all!
I helped Brownback defeat the appointed successor to the Bob Dole Senate seat, who was placed there by liberal RINO Bill Graves. I made the front page of the local paper telling Bill Graves that he would not get the microphone, on the floor of the Republican Convention, unless he made peace with Conservatives.
I was one of the first to help Todd Tiahrt win in the primary, against the liberals.
During those primary elections, I ran a literature drop where I recruited enough volunteers to deliver brochures, door to door, to EVERY household in Sedgwick County, the largest County in Kansas.
Brownback and Tiahrt are VAST improvements over what we used to have.
I will go further: though Ron Thornburg is not at all perfect, Thornburg had the guts, as Secretary of State, to stand up to Bob Dole and to Bill Graves, and FORCE the election that Brownback eventually won. Believe it or not, the RINO’s thought that no election was necessary, after the appointment of “Miss Romper Room” to fill the Dole seat.
I am proud of many people in the Kansas Republican Party.
I am sure that I could, rather easily, name 100 people who have done more, of the cause of conservatism, than you EVER have done in your entire life.

Or get the heck out of the way!
(And STFU if you don't know how to help!)
Big deal, you carry water for another soft, do nothing congressman, big deal.
Tell me, what major accomplishments in Congress by ANYONE you carry water for? Please feel free to list them here, I’ll be waiting. What accomplishments, other than cowering into the background while leftists took more and more of the country over the past 20 years. You can be a fool and get all excited about yourself getting to work with these phonies, but as for me, I know they are sellouts and phonies and they have allowed the left to take this country away. And Brownback has done nothing. Just like the rest of them.
You criticize me? “All you do is carry water” “Big Deal”?
How do YOU carry your big head?
You do nothing but complain!
Have you gotten anyone elected?
Have you recruited anyone to run for office?
Have you ever served in any position, even at the precinct level?
Have you ever written a letter to the editor in support of a conservative?
Have you ever carried literature for a conservative?
More to the point:
WHY ARE YOU HERE, ON FR?
Your bitter, cynical, nasty attitude might better be nourished by visiting little league games and laughing at the players.
You, however, are NOT a player.
It is so much easier to sit back and take shots at those who are actually doing the work, you lazy good-for-nothing loudmouth!
Tiahrt, by the way, is responsible for the Tiahrt Amendment, important to 2nd Amendment types, if you had done your homework.
Brownback and Tiahrt both have near perfect voting records from every conservative interest group score card.
Again, why are you hear?
Do you have kids?
Are you abusive to them? “Big deal, elementary English is easy, wait till you get to High School or College!” “Big Deal, you want a medal? You did what you are supposed to do”
Do you have trouble dealing with people in your family or on the job?
Any of these things would indicate that your biggest problem is facing you in the mirror.
Your ego will not allow you to be “subservient” to another person, since you are so special, so smart, so perfect.
So incredibly wonderful are you that you have accomplished absolutely NOTHING! Lets be clear, when a Republican makes a mistake, that person should hear from us. However, your response to positive news and positive work reflects very poorly on you.
Gimme a break. Brownback is on record for allowing hundreds of millions of Latin Americans into this country. (Amnesty for tens of millions, which will allow them to bring their entire families).
What a childish, immature, female response to criticism. Apparently I have hit very close to home. I asked you to list a single accomplishment by the ‘esteemed’ Congressman you carry water for, and you couldn’t come up with anything. Oh, I think he talked a good game one day on Sean Hannity’s show, talked real tough about something. Then, like the rest of them, pussed out when the real battle began, and allowed the untalented likes of Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Frank, Dodd and the rest to rule the day and get their way.
But feel free to keep thinking you guys are doing a great job, feel free to keep posting articles about yourself, then patting yourself on the back while hoping that people like me don’t point out the fact that your emperor wears no clothes.
You’re right, I must have missed that great contribution by Senator Brownback! Pardon my oversight.
God, am I sick of these people. A complete housecleaning is in order. I seriously can’t think of a single one I would keep in office.
Congress should go to a VOLUNTEER position, as it used to be.
Our Founders did not envision our Reps to get paid more than 5 times the average salary.
Yeah, five times the average salary, and then how much more into off-shore accounts right out of the ‘stimulus’ plan dollars? All to sell us out down the river, while putting up a false front on the various Fox News shows and talk radio shows. Just enough rhetoric, just enough of a ‘well, we gave it our best effort but they had the votes’ to keep the sham going. But the person posting this thread thinks we should be OK with this.
Please read what YOU posted!
You can dish it out, but you can not take it.
You took shots at Republican Conservatives who deserve our support.
Then, you took shots at me for sticking up for those candidates and elected officials.
Now, you can not take the same harsh words that you love to dish out, yourself?
Tough.
No candidate will be perfect on every issue, all the time.
If you are not willing to compromise, or go with the best choice that we have, you do not belong in politics at any level.
You are letting the perfect be the enemy of the good.
Guess what? That often makes YOU the enemy, because you are helping to get the worst candidate elected, with that attitude.
I clearly mentioned the “Tiahrt Amendment” -— go back and read again, if you know how.
Compromise on some things, yes, but compromising to bring hundreds of millions of future Democrat voters into this country, no.
You gotta draw the line somewhere.
Brownback is not perfect, but he his no “RINO” and he will listen to those, on the right, who disagree with him every now and then.
