The F-22 is a great plane. Almost as good as the F-23 would have been.

Nothing new here, constant attacks were launched against:

B1 & B2 bombers
M1 Abrams tank (Al Gore)
Bradley Fighting Vehicle (Al Gore)
Body armor/ballistics vests (Al Gore)
Pay increases/medical benefit increases (Al Gore)
Small weapons development (Al Gore)

Heck, these are just a few examples and the attacks went on for YEARS. Look how successful these weapons have been. Al Gore has got to be the biggest traitor around, actively working against our military in particular and our country in general.

One of our FReepers had a comprehensive list, it was mind-boggling.

Scary. I know that a lot of the anti 22 chatter was coming from the Pentagon.

This is just a total WAG on my part, but it is starting to look like service rivalry as well as plain old defense committee(s) fraud were leveraged to kill the remaining F-22’s. Welcome to Dem leadership of these committees.

If the balloon really goes up, the nation will greatly miss what the F-22 could do to strategy and tactics.

Beautiful article. Perfect response concerning many of the lies said about the Raptor. It is necessary for the USAF to have an airframe able to dominate current and future threats, and the Raptor is it

I would dearly like to believe the AFA. But let's be honest, it's a political advocacy group for the USAF and the industry.

Does that mean what they say is a lie? Of course not. But the AFA has a clear agenda and both are not beyond shading the truth to suit their purposes.

Is it a good airplane? Let's let time tell.
