"judicial philosophy" is not supposed to have any bearing on how members vote. Traditionally, if a nominee has the required education and credentials, they should be voted in.

It's the Democrats who started campaigning against qualified Republican nominees only because they were conservative.

Soyomayor couldn't be more Left-wing that Souter, so it's stupid to go to mattresses over a vote they're going to lose anyway.

Wrong, Deb, as I know what you are getting at (have basically a traitor to the “Oath” on the Supreme Court) is NOT acceptable, we are not playing with “legos” here we are talking about “real” life and real issues which affect our nation, and heritage. If one has a philosophy which does not hold to our “rule of law”-the constitution, then Judicial Philosophy ABSOLUTELY DOES matter!
