Fourth young Minnesotan dies in Somalia

For the second time in two days, a Somali man from Minneapolis has been reported killed in his war-torn homeland, a relative confirmed Sunday.
Zakaria Maruf, 30, who is believed to have been among the first wave of young Somali men to leave Minnesota for Somalia over the past two years, was killed Saturday in Mogadishu, the relative said.
Maruf is the fourth Somali man from the Twin Cities to have died in Somalia since October.
The relative said she did not know how Maruf was killed, adding that she learned of his death in a phone conversation with his wife.
On Saturday, the family of Jamal Bana, 20, of Minneapolis, learned that he had been killed in Somalia after seeing a photograph of his body on a Somali news website. Bana had been shot in the head

They were citizens and their homeland was Somalia? I thought they were immigrants, and not necessarily legals, at that.

Odds are, like the previous three, he was probably an American citizen.. If they were citizens, this makes me wonder about the condition of our current naturalization process. These fellows must have had exceptionally shallow American roots/loyalties.

Here's the problem with that: If there are jihadi enablers and they are recruiting for training and service in Somalia, those same enablers can recruit, etc. willing individuals to act here, within the US. This is a failure on DHS/FBI?etc. or local authorities in stopping these jihadi enablers.

It would appear that their handlers are very adept at turning their hearts and minds.
Number three, that I reported on last night on FR, was 29 years old. Brought here by his family to escape Somalian violence when he was one year old. He really had no recollection of Somalia.
There are some real bad guys hiding out in the mosques and they are causing these boys and men to go fight for something that they don’t understand. Very scary.
