Just use prop 187 and cut all aide to illegals and thier shall be a surplus. You can't be serious. Govt employee pensions alone are enough to drive California into bankruptcy.

The problem is that there are too many State Employees. Many of these are paid way over their Private sector equals. State employees since Gray Davis, have more generous retirements than even those that the UAW had with the Auto Makers.
Illegals represent between 12 and 16 billion but that will probably drop as the recession deepens.
Cal-Works needs to be severely cut back, as it stands it is free money to lay around and do nothing.
California could have a balanced budget with plenty of money for public safety, roads, and education, but first they must put the clamps on fraud and political payoffs.
In the end some current and former elected officials and employees need to be in jail.

Amen! Cut the pensions across the board by 14% and the budget will be balanced. Retirees can squeak by on $72,000 per year instead of $90,000.
