President Obama presented Pope Benedict XVI a letter from Sen. Edward Kennedy during their meeting at the Vatican Friday, and asked the Pontiff to pray for the senator, who is being treated for brain cancer.
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters the president called the Massachusetts Democrat after the meeting. Gibbs said the two spoke for about 10 minutes as Air Force One left Rome heading for Ghana, "telling him he had delivered the letter on his behalf to the Pope."
The letter was described as personal. According to Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough, "the contents of the letter were not known to anyone I know of except Senator Kennedy."

I don’t even know where to start on this one.
A long scroll about the length of a football field listing his sins ?
That’s a cool gesture.
I’d let it go.
Ted Kennedy has the family hubris.
Only if it is in extremely small print.
I’ll pass.....
Wow...A HAIL MARY from Teddy Kennedy. Sorry Ted as your friend Lord ZERO would say it’s above even his pay grade! LOL. Your going to have to confess your sins and try and atone like everyone else....No Kennedy Old boy connections can get you into the Heaven.
Anything in the note for Mary Jo?
I'm praying that from now until the end of eternity, Senator Kennedy experiences the sensation of drowning.
Is Mary Jo still dead? (God rest her soul.)
and how rich, the Evil one delivering a note to the Pontiff for another evil one...surprised the Pope’s hand didn’t start on fire when shaking hands with the fake messiah.
Is that the only way a letter from Kennedy could have gotten to the good pontiff? The Vatican would have just stamped it “return to sender” otherwise?
Maybe The Pope will absolve Kennedy’s sins through waterboarding.
I guess that is the authentic New Testament way of sending a letter (the Roman Empire didn’t have any post offices).
(What it might say)
Dear Your Holiness,
At some point in the near future I expect to succumb to a terminal disease that has been affecting me for the last year. As we both know, there is no cure for a terminal disease.
I have two requests to make of you.
First is for you to please make every effort to ensure that I can receive the last rites from a priest as is the right of every Catholic, if it is possible.
Second are just your prayers, for myself and for all members of my immediate and extended family. My passing will be very difficult for all of them, and they will need all the prayers possible to make it through.
I admire your leadership of the Church so far and wish its continuance for as long as possible.
God Bless You and Good-bye
Sincerely,
Edward M. Kennedy - Senator - D. Massachusetts - USA
I dont care how many letters he sends to the Pope it is personal relationship with Jesus that will determine his ultimate fate.
