If you think there’s any “context” where it’s acceptable to make a reference to Aunt Jemima in a thread discussing the first African-American first lady, you really are clueless.

Oh, but you're not understanding the context! The context is that she should just make more pancakes and everything would be OK. That's not a racist non-sequitur at all. In fact, I often say to random people on the street, "you should just make more pancakes!" I usually get funny looks but little do they know that if they only took my advice, their lives would be so much better.

Hey! I’m black. No one has ever given me the pancake solution to my problems. I collect old cast iron and have these old pancake griddles. Wow! Pancakes! I never knew the solution to all my problems was right there in my kitchen.

Don’t have to mow the grass. Don’t have to pay the bills. Pancakes!
