I don’t remember obscenities. I remember “close tags! close tags!” I thought everyone on here knew a LOT more than I did so I didn’t post much at first. But I don’t remember calling one another obscene names.

Oh my gosh, I remember the "close tags!" days. lol. "get the italians out!"

I remember lots of it. There was little moderation since Jim had to deal with it himself. There was also very little hitting of the abuse button then. When moderators were instituted they retroactively deleted posts. I went back to a WoDs thread and found it was swiss cheese from all the deletions. It was almost impossible to follow any conversation so much was missing.

That said there used to be a lot more actual debate over philosophical views as well as issues. More posters with a depth of historical knowledge. But those were the Clinton/early Bush days before 9-11. The whole country has changed not just FR.

If civility has disappeared I would say the libs have led the country there. Even in the Clinton days there were things like Alec Baldwin calling for Henry Hyde's family to be drug into the street and stoned to death. After 9-11 the libs went ape...stuff.

Now that 97% of blacks have shown themselves to be racists or communists it's hard to care if they feel offended anymore.
