"The peace symbol has been around for a long time and is a completely inoffensive symbol these days."

Sorry, but you couldn't be more wrong.

The "peace" symbol is specifically an inverted, broken cross, and symbolizes the annihilation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the most disgusting and offensive symbol on Earth.

The "peace symbol" was originally the symbol for nuclear disarmament, adopted by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.

The symbol itself is a combination of the semaphoric signals for the letters "N" and "D," standing for Nuclear Disarmament. In semaphore the letter "N" is formed by a person holding two flags in an upside-down "V," and the letter "D" is formed by holding one flag pointed straight up and the other pointed straight down.

It was used by people offensively, it was coopted by the peace movement, and there are many stories about what it is, including the chicken-foot symbol and the broken cross symbol.

And it’s how obama signs his name. He makes the O into that sign. He has signed it that way since college.
