Before you blame all Freepers you should know that there are lefty’s that are trolling FR, looking for a chance to discredit site. Some have been caught. Of course, we do have our very own idjits too.
The opus, of course, is optional.

Some of the posts are straight from and similar to ‘white nationalists’ forums. I do believe that some (small #) are pedaling their filth over here.

OK, I see what you mean and I agree. Unfortunately, shows like the Daily Show and Letterman and the other mainstream outlets have turned both "comedy" and debate into personal insult fests. It is disturbing and I point this out to my own kids who, it turns out, have pretty good reputations because they don't behave this way. (usually!)
I am put off by this stuff on FR. I am really hesitant to hit the abuse button for this kind of thing but maybe I should reconsider. I would appreciate input from the powers that be.
Free Republic is very important to conservatives generally. We might even be the target of shut downs. We also need to balance this with freedom of expression and not succumb to PC-type speech police. That's a tough one.

I think you may be right. Many of them were probably never really into “politics” per se until Obama’s election, then they decided to come here thinking it was a like-minded place. They should go back to Stormfront or wherever they came from and not let the door hit their a** on the way out.

Racism is not welcomed here on FR, and to suggest otherwise is incredibly disingenuous.
Of course, the truth of the matter is that the racists you speak of appear to be largely ethereal. You haven’t posted any examples. (I’ll remind you that the use of the word “ghetto” does not make one a racist.)
You should change your tagline to something catchy like “Careful! There’s a racist in every thread, just waiting to explode!”

I don't. When I signed up, ten days before you did, there were no moderators. Posts were pulled by Jim and there was a lot of obscenity.
