SFAHAN, Iran — Iranian scientists have become the first in the Middle East to clone a cow as part of the country's stem cell research, the leader of the project said Saturday.
The male cow, named Bonyana, was born Saturday in the city of Isfahan in central Iran, said Dr. Mohammed Hossein Nasr e Isfahani, head of the Royan Research Institute.
Besides its nuclear activity and nascent space program, Iran has sought to highlight advances in other technologies such as cloning and medicine. The government set a goal to become a regional leader in advanced sciences and technology by 2025.
Iran announced in 2006 that it cloned a sheep and in April it said it cloned a goat.

That's because George Bush's legacy and fight endures in the Mid East, despite, and in spite of Obama, and THAT is Obama's real dilema.
It was George Bush's policy of direct engagement and support of liberty that has led to the people of Iran seeing the measure of freedom now established on both sides of them in Iraq and Afghjanistan...and desiring it for themselves.
Obama cannot possibly go too far in recognizing that, or he absolutely repudiates himself and his entire foreign policy.
...but Obama doesn't want to "meddle".
The fight in Iran goes on.

OK. Why not? Things are crazy all over the world, economies are in free-fall, countries with bombs are running amok, - and Iran clones a cow.
Great. Clone 71 more and they’ll have all the virgins they need for one lucky jihadi martyr.
Essentially, Obama’s hoping to stall until the Iraqi experiment collapses, which will allow him to claim it was a failure from the beginning. That’s why he’s subtly undermining every step they take. (note that we released Iranian prisoners yesterday) Every day Iraq continues to make freedom work is an indictment of his policies.
He’s in a position to create a self-fulfilling prophesy. the only question is whether the Iraqi people can band together and counter it.
