it appears she’s abandoning her principles for the opportunity of a speaking fee.

I think she's making a smart political move as no democrats will ask her to stump for them, yet the public Moderates will applaud down the road when they see she offered. She said it for the general voter IMHO.

Exactly. Palin is making some brilliant strategy moves.

Let the Democrats get saddled with the misery they've created.

Future scenario: "I offered to join anyone with viable solutions for this country's future and no Democrats came forward."

Your theory could have some validity but we’ll see. On the surface, this looks like a very stupid move. I didn’t care about her resigning but this volunteering to stump for a conservative Democrat really makes a great big yellow flag go up.
