While you were sparing with The Professor, I was reeling at information from a relative; whom I tracked down yesterday, as had been MIA lately.. catching up..he joked by saying: "Guess you were not affected by any Ponzi schemes!"... things seemed as always touched on family; but then he leaned in and said quickly: "We have lost everything!". The stress was so acute, his partner was taken to the hospital with symptons of a heart attack. It was a reaction to some medications given for the shock/stress. I didn't know what to say. I was stunned...just like I don't know what to say to your encounter with this.....*censored* and his above comment.

This *censored* would be happy to know that his wish has come true in this instance. Two older, intelligent, VERY worldly people (Conservatives, breaking their expected stigma) worked hard all their lives, saved a nice nest egg have now lost all their investments/savings. At least they own their home, are pretty self sufficient as grow vegetables, flowers for local grocery centers etc...never flamboyant financially, and live simply.

I can't adequately put any of this into any intelligent context as I am just at a loss for words. I am stuck in a hate/disgust mode for this Climate *censored*.
