A conservative, anti-union bastion whose people don't have much education. A magnet for destructive hurricanes. A region whose unskilled workers are incapable of building an airplane that can fly.
Does that sound like Charleston?
Now that the Lowcountry has emerged as a top competitor for a second production line of Boeing's new 787 jetliner, the area is getting increased attention from people living in Seattle and particularly in Everett, Wash., where Boeing builds its jets

Ping!
Oh goodie, it is the leftwing P&C posters vs the LW Idiot Union posters from Seattle. I think this is another case that exemplifies the real battle of the American Left, how to grab the scraps left after the Obamanation revolution!
Sounds OK to me!
Have you guys heard the criticizms of Europe’s A380 airbus safety record? I hear some flyers are now saying: “If it’s not Boeing, I’m not going!” LOL.
It's the classic example of dogs tearing each other apart in a fight over the same bone.
Yep, bet your bottom dollar that this is coming from the union.
Bet they said all the same things when the auto plants begin to spring up down South! Isn’t it a shame that “the highly skilled and educated union plants” are in the crapper?
Meanwhile, I seem to recall a little “man made disaster” that happened about 68 years ago. Seems that the uneducated hicks from the farms and sticks build just fine airplanes, tanks and ships.
Earth to the Boeing unions, become realistic or become extinct!!
When unions first started up they had 2 puposes.
Power for those staring them and protection for the workers that joined the union.
Now the unions exist for one reason.Power for the people that run them.
This is just one more illustration of hatred disguised as competition.
South Carolina, with its climate, picturesque cities and character has seduced retirees from all over the US and the world. Southern folks’ inherent humility, decency and gracious manners have not prevented the invaders from leaving their brainwashed regional biases & politics behind. The ‘natives’ who had enough luck to be born in the South and the intelligence to remain Southerners are pilloried as uneducated, racist rednecks(if white) and pitiful victims (if black). Nothing tastes, works, looks or costs like it oughtta.
A new war of Northern aggression by the cultural elite.
sod
We most certainly think liberals are evil.
Old Charleston is very nice. Don’t care much for the rest of it.
All workers come out of high school unskilled.
All workers were taught those skills.
Is the Union saying the people of SC are too stupid to learn?, or are they really saying they are too smart to join their Union and destroy their opportumnity for a good job.
We got the same ration of shite when NorthrupGrumman/EADS won the AF tanker bid. The production was to be in Mobile.
“Southerners are pilloried as uneducated, racist rednecks(if white)”
Southerners, white males, and Christians are among the few remaining groups that are “fair game”. You can freely post “redneck” on this site but don’t you even think of posting the dread “November” word.

The unions were socialist in nature from the very beginning and have done great damage to the production capability of this country.
Their efforts have always been to bleed and hamstring the industries they are associated with. If they had shown more concern for the health of the companies and the quality of their products, while ensuring the welfare of those they represented, their strongholds would not be the vast wastelands that currently exist.
I also find it interesting that the thugs that were employed against labor unions, during their inception, found “safe harbor in the unions”.... kind of reminds one of Animal Farm.
If you want to see stupid, uneducated and lazy, drive through union Detroit.
Oh. . there is another reason. . .money for the people that run them.
To be clear, different context.
One production line ready to go with facilities and tooling in place, with experienced workers, versus a yet-to-be-built facility and no trained work-force.
If we were talking about a second line to build the tanker, then you have a point.
No, it sounds like unions and the Wash Chamber of Commerce whining...
But don't attempt that drive in a foreign-labeled vehicle -- especially unarmed...
