Palin's Post-Governor Game Plan: 'Get Out There and Fight'
Fox News ^ | July 10, 2009

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Gun rights enthusiasts welcomed Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate, as she made an appearance Friday on a radio talk show.

Palin announced last Friday she is resigning, saying it was the best thing for the state and for her family. Her resignation takes effect July 26 when Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell takes over.

Palin spoke on the Michael Dukes' "Firearms Friday" show on KFAR radio in Fairbanks. She was in Alaska's second largest city to sign a gun rights bill and several resolutions.

Callers included rock n' roller turned avid hunter Ted Nugent, well-known for the 1970s hit "Cat Scratch Fever," who told Palin from his home in Michigan that he was firing up the grill to cook up some Alaskan black bear backstrap in her honor.

The governor told Nugent that she thought that was "awesome."

Nugent signed off by saying, "Sarah Palin, God bless you and your family."

[...]

After talking with Nugent, Palin took some questions from listeners. Most of them said they supported her decision to resign but were disappointed.

"I chose not to play their game," Palin explained.

She wanted instead to free herself of the constraints of the governor's job so that she could again "get out there and fight," she said.

As governor, she was forced to answer ethics complaints filed by anonymous people, Palin said.

"They do things like that," Palin said. "I can handle it but not when it cost the state the time and money it has cost."

The state said this week it has spent $1.9 million on the ethics complaints.

Sarah posted this on her twitter page, it broke my heart..

@AkGovSarahPalin More precious time, public & private resources wasted today w yet another frivolous false ethics charge, I’ll send presser. So sorry, Alaska

She blames herself, I twittered her and told her that it was not her fault. That Obama, Soros, Axelrod, and Emmanuel are all behind this

Just my opinion but with the constant ‘ethics’ complaints, I don’t think they should be anonymous.

Have the grits to sign your name to it cowards, or shut up.

If you’re going to cost your local government that much money, I as a tax payer want to know who is wasting my money.

Sarah Palin initiated a brilliant flanking manuever against the left, the DNC, and the MSM (and throw the RINOs in there for good measure) that has them all in a frenzy wondering what her next move will be and how it will be perceived...and has them frothing at the mouth in their efforts to discredit her.

Sarah will now get her book out, go on tour, give speeches and promote conservatie principles all over this country in the midst of the Obama administration disaster and gain great political capital in the process. Then she will support conservative candidates in 2010 and help them win, amassing much more political capital. She will then take all of that and make an awesome, stunning run for the Presidency in 2012.

I'd kust like to have a "Firearms Friday" talk show down here in TX...LOL. That would be cool. Alaskans have things in order.

The Guv and Ted Nugent were great. Nugent loves Gov. Palin.

If Sarah didn't want to "play their game", why was she always out there participating in it? Why was her whole family thrust into the "game"?

About these new ethics charges from anonymous complaints -- how can they be a serious problem and cost the state money if they are anonymous? The legal system doesn't work like that.

The whole thing is beginning to sound like one big blog opera.

They aren’t anonymous. They say who they are, they are just filing these complaints to personally bankrupt her. No Governor should have to go through that. Its right out of Alinsky’s book Rules for Radicals, this is what they do. This is who Obama looked up to and learned from. Sarah had no choice but to resign, it was either stay another year as Governor, or end up penniless.

Oh no - another one? Perhaps she should have resigned immediately. There doesn’t seem to be any room to do the right thing in Alaska w/evil allowed to hide under ‘anonymous’.

Aren’t there any harassment laws in Alaska?

If not Sarah, it would be the next "good" person in the battle against "evil". As she said so clearly last week, she is not retreating; just attacking from a different direction.

Politics is war by other means, and vice versa.

If more people would look at our economic situation, political situation, the mindset of the leftists currently in power in DC, and the abundant historical parallels, they would realize we are sitting on a powder keg. 2010, or 2012 may well be an eternity away for millions of us.

This is what my husband and I don’t understand...all these ethics charges have proven to be bogus — and yet she still has to pay all these fees? Seems to me that the bogus suit-filers should be required to pick up the bill, not the innocent target.

The one that filed the ethics complaint today was not Celtic Diva, it was some other fool. Basically its the same five people, who file complaint after complaint, they take turns

I agree. You would think the gov’t would pick up her legal fees. Or the gov’t slam harassment charges on those that file these bogus charges. Or a class action suit on behalf of the citizena of Alaska - it’s costing them, the taxpayer, also.

Strange laws in Alaska. She made a smart move resigning and I hope she makes millions from her book.

She had a Republican House and Senate. Could she not get someone to write legislation for a “loser pays” law regarding lawsuits? I would think Alaska would be an easy place to get that voted in.

In Glenn’s defense, he hasn’t been on TV at all this week, perhaps next week he will start investigating. Someone outta start investigating who are funding these people. Sarah seems to have a pretty good idea who are funding them. Someone even called in the radio show saying that they are being funded by ACORN, that is a theory I never thought of, but could be a possibility

Now, THERE is a 2012 dream ticket...

Palin/Nugent!!!

If She would make “Nugent for VP” a KEY part of her Primary campaign, AND announce her “Dream Cabinet” B4 the New Hampshire Primary...
The ‘old school’ party-first Republicans would be defenseless. Rino Incumbents wouldn’t make it past their Primaries.
